Description

This 8-day program in Peru offers a complete experience that combines history, culture, and nature. It begins in Lima with a tour of its main attractions, including the Miraflores district, the Plaza de Armas, and the Convent of Santo Domingo. The journey continues to Cusco, where you explore its colonial monuments and the Sacsayhuamán Archaeological Park. Next, you visit the Sacred Valley of the Incas, exploring traditional towns such as Chinchero and Ollantaytambo, as well as the impressive circular terraces of Moray. The highlight is a visit to Machu Picchu, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. The itinerary also includes excursions to Humantay Lagoon and the Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain Range, along with the Inca bridge Q’eswachaka, offering unique landscapes and authentic experiences. The program concludes with the return to Lima.

Breakfast. We will tour the main streets, squares, and avenues of the city. We begin with a panoramic view of the Miraflores district. We start at the Love Park, where we will see the famous sculpture “The Kiss” by Peruvian artist Víctor Delfín. Then, we will observe the impressive Huaca Pucllana, a ceremonial center of the Lima culture. We continue to the Plaza de Armas, where we find the Government Palace and the Municipal Palace. We will visit the Cathedral and walk to the Convent of Santo Domingo, whose halls were walked by Saint Martin de Porres and Saint Rose of Lima in the 17th century and where their remains currently lie. Breakfast. At the indicated time, transfer to the airport to board the flight to Cusco. Arrival, reception, and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, we will ascend to the Sacsayhuamán Archaeological Park and start the excursion visiting the fortress of the same name, a beautiful place that radiates peace and tranquility. We will admire the enormous rocks up to 4 meters high used in its construction. We continue with Q'enqo, an ancient Puma temple where you can see an altar for sacrifices inside a huge rock, and then Tambomachay, sacred fountains of life and health. On the way, we will have a panoramic view of Puca Pucará, a watchtower that guarded the entrance to the city. Afterwards, we head to the Temple of the Sun “Korikancha,” upon which the Convent of Santo Domingo was built. Legend says this temple was completely covered in gold sheets that amazed the conquerors upon their arrival. Finally, we will visit the Plaza de Armas and enter the Cathedral, which treasures invaluable colonial works and paintings, such as the Cross that arrived with the first conquerors. Accommodation.

Breakfast. Today we will visit the most outstanding sites of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. We depart to the town of Chinchero, the most typical and picturesque of the Sacred Valley. This town is famous for its women weavers. Brief stop at a textile center to appreciate ancient Inca techniques for dyeing and spinning alpaca wool. We will visit its Inca square with its beautiful colonial church. We continue to Moray, a beautiful Inca archaeological site composed of concentric agricultural terraces that served as a laboratory to recreate microclimates. Lunch. We continue to visit the last living Inca town, Ollantaytambo. We will visit the Temple of the Ten Niches, the Ñusta baths, and the Temple of the Sun. The views from the heights of Ollantaytambo will close this magical day in the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Accommodation.

Breakfast. We will depart by train to visit one of the 7 Wonders of the World. We will arrive at Aguas Calientes station, where our staff will assist us to board the transport that will ascend through a winding road, offering a spectacular view of the Urubamba River that shapes the famous canyon. The Lost City of the Incas, Machu Picchu, will welcome us with its incredible terraces, stairways, ceremonial enclosures, and urban areas. Energy emanates from the entire place. After a guided tour, we will have lunch at one of the local restaurants. Return by train. Transfer to the hotel. Accommodation.

Early in the morning, we will pick you up at your hotel and start our trip by bus to our first stop, the district of Mollepata, also called “the world’s pantry” for its splendid and varied agricultural production. After a short rest, we continue to Soraypampa, where we begin our ascent hike to the lagoon. Along the way, we will see various ecological levels and beautiful landscapes. After an hour and a half hike, at 4,200 m.a.s.l., we will delight in the impressive Humantay Lagoon, which has turquoise and crystalline colors that contrast notably with the majestic snow-capped peaks of the area: Humantay and Salkantay. After enjoying the spectacular beauty of the place, we return to Soraypampa for lunch and at the indicated time, we return by the same route to Cusco. Accommodation.

DAY 07 - CUSCO (Excursion to Palccoyo Rainbow Mountain Range and Q’eswachaka)

Early in the morning, we will start our trip to the Palccoyo Community located southeast of Cusco. On the way, we will see the evolution of the road system through three bridges: the Inca (15th century); the Colonial (17th–18th centuries); and the Modern, made of railway lines and dating from 1895. After passing the access control booth and a short stop for breakfast, we arrive at Huallatakunka, where we begin our hike to discover this new attraction. Just a few meters from the start, we can see the first mountain of an extensive range with colors similar to the rainbow, giving it a cheerful and mystical atmosphere. This natural beauty is the sister of the famous Vinicunca but closer and with better accessibility. We will enjoy spectacular views through three viewpoints found during our hike; from one of them, we can see up to three colored mountains at once, and from another, we will have an impressive view of Ausangate Mountain on one side and the Vilcanota Mountain Range in front of us. At the end of the hike, we return to the vehicle to head to the district of Quehue, province of Canas, over the Apurimac River. We will visit Q’eswachaka, the last Inca bridge, a fascinating experience. This hanging bridge over the Apurimac River is unique in its kind, handmade and renewed year after year through a four-day ritual performed by local communities. We will have the opportunity to cross this imposing Inca construction, 28 meters long, living the adrenaline to the fullest. Return to Cusco. Accommodation.
